The Environmental Party of Iran was established on the initiative of Arash Hejabrī, together with a group of politically and civically active Iranians, following the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising. The party was founded with the aim of supporting the Iranian people’s revolution in their transition toward a democratic and secular system. It was founded in Stockholm and is officially registered in Sweden.
In addition to providing political and practical support for Iran’s popular revolution, the party’s objectives are shaped by inspiration from the Swedish Green Party and by an environmental, forward-looking approach to Iran’s challenges. The Environmental Party of Iran seeks to position itself as a progressive and modern political party that advocates for environmental protection, promoting environmental awareness and ecological thinking among Iranians, children’s rights, equal access to education, gender equality, women’s rights, universal access to healthcare, and other fundamental civil and human rights.
The party works in alignment with the Iranian people’s struggle to overthrow the Islamic Republic and to achieve a democratic and secular system. At the same time, it aims to lay the foundations for a modern and progressive political party that can play an active role in the post-transition period and in shaping Iran’s future.
